The Story

A long time ago in a little slice of a picture-perfect region on the West coast, an idea of starting my own business rushed through my veins, saturated my thoughts, and burned inside my soul. The journey began with a five-generation cookie recipe and a will to enroll in a professional baking program in a town where I knew nobody. I dove into the Napa Valley lifestyle like a fruit fly to Brandy, without abandon, fear, knowledge, or any sense of how to start a food company and survive financially and physically.

What a glorious ride!

A professional baking certificate, relentless hours of research and development, days and nights spent in restaurants waiting tables, tasting wine, dining on innovative well crafted food, sampling exotic ingredients new to my palate, networking the food and wine scene, playing bocce ball, and soaking in all the magic, I was able to put together the first thread of a viable company. Five or seven maxed-out credit cards, two Farmers Markets, one kitchen lease, countless logo design mockups, and more hours of research and development, BATCH & BARREL was born. The company persevered for thirteen years thanks to many friends, family, and pure guts. Today, the cookies only live through the memories of those who have tasted them, revered them, and on occasion request that they be baked. Maybe I will meet you someday and will just happen to have a sample for your taste buds.
