Not only does lavender smell good and ease your sleep time, but it is beautiful to look at. Out in the countryside of Vacaville, rows of blooming lavender at Soul Food Farms. Roll in, park the car, and get ready for a stunning view. Grab your bucket, clippers, and twist ties from the check-in table. Head out to the suggested rows for cutting and fill up your bucket. It’s as easy as that. They will give you a sheet of descriptions as well as what each varietal can be used for, from crafting to cooking to décor, each section has a placard stuck in the earth describing each type of lavender. As much as I love to cook, I went for the décor lavender, gathering bunches to hang in the kitchen and place around the house in vases. The aroma is intoxicating and soothing. The colors pop from bright deep purple to bride white. And the bees love the succulent sweetness. Saving the bees one stem of lavender at a time.
