Meandering through the Utah landscape is a salty spot that by eye looks like a massive desert framed by hazy mountains. I drove onto the lake in awe of the vision that lay underneath me. The tires crunching over the waterless terrain opening up to a vast open space. The Bonneville Salt Flats lies a few hours west of Salt Lake City Utah and encompasses 300,000 acres of blinding white, crusty earth where one can pedal their metal with race car speed freedom. My friend, Michael Alan Ross, a car photographer, turned me on to this place saying that it is one of the coolest places in the U.S. to capture images of racing cars and that many a speed record had been set here. I took a good look around me and not a living soul could I see. Although I was driving a Honda CRV, it did have a turbo engine, so I decided I would set a speed record of my own and I pushed the gas pedal as far down as it would go and hit the 120 mph range. The blood rushed through my limbs, my stomach twisted, and my eyes moved at 45 frames per second blurring the horizon. Pure exhilaration! This was one of many moments in my life I wished I owned a Porsche. Thanks MAR,that was super fun. See Michael's bad  ass photography here www.michaelalanross.com
