POETIC PAWS

These pages pour out my passion for wine, food, and baked goods, but dogs fill my heart and soul in ways my palate cannot. Their soulful eyes, puppy breath, facial expressions, furry little bits, and undeniable loyalty are otherworldly to me. Their fearless sense of trusting us to care for them, nurture them, love them, coddle them, spoil them, and talk to them as if they were a fresh newborn child astounds me. They connect like most people are incapable of, and I adore them. As a nomad living around the country, I have made my way by pet-sitting for family and friends. Below is a gallery of some of my favorites, including my number one boy, Bodhi, who appears first and as the cover photo.

Little Bodhi

Small in stature, mighty in heart,

Bodhi races across the sand.

His soulful eyes, wisdom's art,

See truths we can't understand.

Caramel curls, wiry and wild,

 Frame a face of pure delight.

Tenacious spirit, gentle and mild,

His presence makes the world right.

That one bent ear that flops with grace

As he bounds with joyful skip,

Challenging waves in playful chase,

Barking boldly with each trip.

When sleep claims this tireless soul,

He transforms into a plush toy.

A stuffed bear whose sacred role

Is to fill your world with joy.

In snuggles deep and loyal,

Little Bodhi makes his mark,

Lasting forever in your heart's sweet arc.
